I write it, you read it.

TEEBOFG: “I’ve literally got B22s at the Selfridges shop floor right now.”

Megan: “where you always a ‘uk rage’ artist? or is that something you’ve adopted recently?”

Teebo: “I was never a ‘UK Rage’ artist. to be honest I was against all of this rage stuff. I was against Ken Carson and the rest of the rage rappers until I moved to Manchester.. things just changed when I went to the studio that one time to make ‘B22s’.”

Megan: Did you expect people to respond so postively to ‘b22s’ or was there any doubts leading up to it’s release?

Teebo: “I can’t lie, nah. I didn’t like it myself. When I made it, it was just some bars I wrote in about 5 minutes. I just spoke into the mic, cause Jeff had put it on and I was like let me just try this cause I was a UK Drill artist but I wasn’t even taking it seriously – just wrote up a few bars and the rest is history…”

Megan: “you once mentioned that ‘b22s’ wasn’t originally a solo track – what happened that day when you stepped in the booth?”

Teebo: “Basically it was me, JEFFGRV and JSAP LA ROCK and my boy Enzo, we were all in the studio and I think it was Sap making a couple tracks with our engineer and at the end Jeff was like ‘you should hop on a Rage type beat’ and I thought nah it’s not really me. I listened to the beat and was like I’ll just try something anyways – came with my normal UK Drill flow that I’ve adapted and yeah just like that…”

Megan: “what was the inspo behind ‘B22s’?”

Teebo: “I’ve actually got a little story… me, Enzo, Jeff and Sap were in me and Sap’s kitchen and we were chatting about reselling and Enzo was saying how he’s been reselling for time and at that time I was reselling as well cause that’s my side hustle. I was saying to Enzo and Jeff ‘I’ve literally got B22s at the Selfridges shop floor right now’ and they were like ‘no you don’t, you don’t’. the next day is when I made the track and after that I went to go get the B22s from the shop floor, took a snap of the Dior shoes, even on my Instagram, there’s a photo of me with the Dior bag. That’s literally the day I posted the sound and people were messing with it.”

Megan: “what were the studio sessions like? and how was filMing the music video?”

Tebbo: “The first time I ever did the B22s vocals and posted it people were letting me know how they wanted it to sound and because of the fact that Sap and Jeff were also on the track I couldn’t just use the exact same vocals. So I had to do another session and do it again but it still didn’t sound the way I wanted it to sound so I booked another session and thankfully it went well that time.”

“My friend Kilanji AKA @altr.3go__ shouted me and said he wanted to film it. Most of the mandem came, Marz, Kilanji, Duppy, Eman, everyone, everyone came really. Duppy, Eman and Kilanji directed it, it went smooth to be honest – we went to a couple locations, got a couple shots. We got quite a few shots that people haven’t seen just due to them not making the cut.”

“It was my first time doing a music video in front of a camera. I wasn’t really nervous, I was more shocked at how tired you get saying your bars over and over again.”

Megan: “You’ve teased a few b22s remixes on your tiktok, how did these collabs come about and which is your favourite?

Teebo: “On this remix I’ve got Len, Hako and Coults. How did i get them? Well Len commented on one of my TiktToks and I said we should collab, he followed me, DM’ed me and told me to send some opens…I said he may as well hop on B22s and he agreed then sent me his verse.”

“Hako and Coults had been following me from before, whilst i was posting snippets of the track, I just messaged them asking of they would want to hop on the track and I got them on there.”

“In terms of a favourite… I don’t really have a favourite, they all come with a different vibe and it’s perfect.”

B22s Remix out 28th February
Megan: “you performed live at the end of 2023, was this your first live performance and how was that experience?”

Teebo: “Yeah that was my first time performing live, shoutout to Eman for getting me out there. Me and Eman have a song called ‘Why Lie’, we performed that. Funnily enough, quite a few people new the track and it was an unreleased track – I was like definitely shocked. Getting on stage, I had some sort of Nervous adreniline rush. As soon and the beat dropped and my bars came, i just got into the zone and started rapping my ass off and that’s how it went.”

Megan: “what can we expect from Teebo IN 2024?”

Teebo: “Plenty more tracks, plenty more flows, plenty more sounds. I’m obviously dropping the ‘B22s Remix’, after that I’ll be dropping snippets of some tracks.”

Megan: “would you say you’ve definitely found your image now? is this you and your flow for sure? or do you think they’ll be a change in anything?”

Teebo: “In terms of flow and sound, yes but obviously my flow will vary a lot. There’ll be times where I’m doing a skippy flow, an orthodox flow and so on…”

“In terms on image and what people see of me? Nah I’m nowhere near what i want to be looking like but we’re working on that.”
