The streets are calling it #GRVSZN: Are you ready for ‘GYALDEM GALORE’?

Written by Megan Kamanga

It’s been over a year since he released his debut single ‘Runaway’, since then he has put out two other singles ‘A&E’ and ‘Orange Juice’. During this time we’ve heard Jeffgrv’s sound gradually evolve and it’s obvious he has adopted a new, different and dare I say arguably better sound.

For the past few months he’s been teasing and promoting a sample of his new single set to release this month ‘GYALDEM GALORE’ which can only be characterised as having an almost unruly, experimental and reckless sound, however a boundary pushing artist’s music like Jeffgrv’s is hard to categorise.

Jeff has given me early access to ‘GYALDEM GALORE’, allowing me to come to you and form my honest and fair opinion of the track.

Firstly the music video, edited by @angelopsyche, comes with crazy visuals and definitely mirrors the hype energy the song has.

As for the song itself,

I definitely think the sound was unanticipated after hearing A&E and instantly placing Jeff into your typical UK rap category, expecting him to stay there then witnessing a switch to songs that radiate rockstar energy.

Although it’s not a genre I would typically listen to, I rate the track highly and will be adding it to my playlist after it’s official release.

I’d say it’s catered to people more open to different styles of music. An ‘you either love it or you hate it’ kind of vibe, however Jeff makes music to suit himself and is very nonchalant about any negative and unwarranted opinions.

“Tell all them n*ggas I ain’t got the time, I ain’t got the time for all of the talk” – GYALDEM GALORE.

“HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC TO SOMEONE WHO’S NEVER HEARD IT”

Jeffgrv: “I wouldn’t restrict myself to a genre, I make what I think sounds lit”

Hi! I’m Megan. I think about a lot of things then write them so here’s a little insight into my mind. I’m also kind of using this as a portfolio (megankamangawrites@gmail.com) xo
